
Mark Lanegan Covers Buck Owens, Others On LP

Screaming Trees singer Mark Lanegan's upcoming solo album, I'll Take Care of You (Sept.
21), features 11 eclectic covers of folk, blues and country songs. Among the artists covered
on the CD are '80s cowpunks the Gun Club ("Carry Home"), '60s folkies Tim Hardin
("Shiloh Town") and Fred Neil ("Badi-Da"), Stax Records R&B singer Eddie Floyd
("Consider Me"), oddball rockers the Leaving Trains ("Creeping Coastline of Lights") and
country legend Buck Owens ("Together Again"). Also included are covers of the traditional
gospel and blues songs "On Jesus' Program" and "Little Sadie." Among the album's guests
are Screaming Trees bassist Van Conner and drummer Barrett Martin, former Dinosaur Jr.
bassist and solo artist Mike Johnson, former Soundgarden bassist Ben Shepard (sic) and Los
Lobos multi-instrumentalist Steve Berlin.
